Medicare 101: with a range of health care easy to understand


Simple questions such as "what is Medicare?" or "what are My options for health care?" are oftentimes complex answers. Medicare beneficiaries, their niecodzienne and mentors may be even more confused and even doubtful about their health care coverage.

Part i: what is ORIGINAL MEDICARE?

In this first instalment Touchstone health "Medicare 101"you want to explore the secrets to original Medicare.

What is the original Medicare?

Medicare is health insurance plan charges for services provided by the Government. Fees for the services of a means to pay the amount for each type of service you receive before Medicare pays its share.

Original Medicare is composed of parts a and B, providing coverage of hospital and medical insurance directly. Part a hospital insurance that helps cover the oko?oporodowa care in hospitals, skilled nursing, hospices, and home care. Part b medical insurance, which helps cover doctors ' services, hospital outpatient care and home care. Part b also helps cover some preventive services for maintenance of health.

Who can get the original Medicare?

If you are Turning 65 within the next 3 months, or has turned 65 in the past 3 months, now is the time to choose a plan, if you haven't already done so. Waiting too long could be left without medical care and cost more in the long term.

Call social security at 1-800-772-1213 for more information about eligibility and enroll in Medicare part a and/or part B.

What to pay with original Medicare?

Usually you must pay the deductible (set amount for care) before Medicare pays its share. Then, Medicare pays its share, and pay your share (coinsurance/copayment) for the listed services and supplies. There is no annual limit for everything current.

You may be eligible for premium-free coverage of part a. However, usually the payment of the monthly premium for part B.

You can go to any doctor or hospital?

You can go to a doctor, provider, hospital, or facility, in Medicare and is accepting new Medicare patients.

Are covered by prescription drugs?

Most prescription drugs are not covered by original Medicare. You must sign up for part D Medicare prescription drug Plan if you want a comprehensive prescription drug coverage.

Do I need to choose a primary care?

No.

Do you have to obtain a referral to see a specialist?

No, but who must accept Medicare.

How Do You file claims? Typically, you do not need to file Medicare claims. The law requires of suppliers (such as doctors, hospitals, skilled nursing and home health agencies) and suppliers to file claims for the listed services and delivery can be obtained.
